We recently installed a tree cabling system on a mature Silver Maple in Orléans, Ontario to reinforce weak unions near the base of the tree.
The tree was still healthy and providing shade, environmental benefits, and value to the property, but the structure of the main stems had become a concern. Rather than removing the tree, cabling provided a practical solution that improved safety while preserving the tree.
Reinforcing weak branch unions
As some trees mature, weak attachment points can develop where major stems join together. Over time, these areas can become vulnerable to splitting, especially during storms, heavy snow loads, or strong winds.
